TERASURFACING is an early-stage preventive maintenance technology, which has been jointly developed by CSIR-Central Road Research Institute and Verma Industries. TERASURFACING is a thin surfacing, quick setting system that can be utilised when early distortion signs of fatigue cracks, oxidation and rutting are noticed on pavement structures. The TERASURFACING technology uses an especially engineered blend of modified bitumen emulsion, mineral fillers, aggregates and industrial waste material such as steel slag, marble dust and fly ash.
As cracks start forming on a pavement surface, it can degrade rapidly due to penetration of moisture through the cracks. If a layer of TERASURFACING® is applied at this point of time, it successfully fills these cracks and prevent the further deterioration of the pavement. This will significantly extend the pavement's life.
